There are several things that you will need when you move into a new home. Nowadays, you can find an endless checklist of everything you may need. However, at the most basic level, you will only need a few essentials to get started.

Dubai Creek Harbour is currently one of the biggest developments in Dubai developed by Emaar Properties. In fact, it hosts some of the very popular villas for sale in Dubai known as the Lagoons. Alternatively, you can choose several new projects by Meraas. Both Meraas and Emaar are some of the top rated developers in Dubai.

Before you move into your new home, below are some essential things to keep in your new home:

1. A cleaning kit

Perhaps the first thing you do when you move into a new house is to do a thorough cleaning. Even if you found it clean, you will still need to clean after unpacking. So, the cleaning kit should be high up on your list of essentials. The equipment may include a vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket, a good broom, scrub brush, etc.

2. Cookware

Food is an important part of home life. So, it is worth investing in some kitchen essentials that will help you fix a meal. For instance, you may need a good set of knives, plates, mugs and others. Also, you may need a variety of different sized pots and pans to make a wide variety of food.

3. Canned food and other sundries

Without power connection, you cannot rely on the refrigerator to keep the food fresh. So, it is good to keep canned and dried food that can last for several days and be eaten cold. Also, remember to keep a good supply of bottled water.

4. First Aid Kit

It is very important to keep a fully stocked first aid kit in your home. The kit should be placed in an accessible location from day one. In fact, it is advisable to keep two kits; one for emergency and the other for everyday use.

5. Toolkit

Even though you may already have a basic toolkit, there are some tools you may need to add. For instance, you may need a stud finder to put up shelves, heavy artwork, mirrors, etc. Also, an adjustable wrench can come in handy to tighten or remove bolts. In addition, you may need a pry bar for removing stubborn nails. A ladder may also be useful to hang curtains or replace bulbs.
