    VIBE

Tucked away in a private apartment in one of Paris’s elegant Haussmann-style buildings, this intimate spa offers organic skin and body treatments to the feng shui set. Spacious treatment rooms combine the refined grandeur of its 19th century architecture (high ceilings, ornate moldings, parquet floors) with warming colors (tangerine and turquoise accent walls) and high-tech, ultra-cushy beds, making the experience at once truly Parisian and yet also jetset chic. Though there are no complementary facilities, you could easily fill a whole day here with treatments, diet advice, consultations with the in-house physiotherapist, and even (for the adventurous) Japanese Lyashi Dôme purification, an intensive heat-based weight loss treatment.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

The organic treatments are delightfully refreshing, and the quirky Paris-meets-feng shui surrounds are fun. We also dig how the treatment suites are actually a full room in the apartment–such a nice change from the usual cramped spa cabins. The bespoke facials by proprietor Stephan Jaulin (a veteran of Guerlain and Khiel’s) use his own custom concoctions, and he tailors the session specifically to your skin.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The three flights of stairs we have to climb to get here. Would be nice if there were more complementary facilities too.

    GOOD TO KNOW

This is the first entirely organic spa in Paris. Pay attention to the silky soft linens and kimonos–they’re made from Scandinavian pine and are fully biodegradable. The spa is a bit tricky to find; you’ll need to go into a courtyard and then up three flights of stairs to get here. There’s also a small boutique carrying organic skincare products, nutritional supplements, and the spa’s signature scent, 217 (a mix of fennel, sage, orange blossom, basil, and mint). Beware that they will try to sell you all sorts of stuff!
