The gold-stoppered bottles lining the shelves of the rosy armoires at this feminine boutique hold some of the most alluring scents in the city. (And let’s just say this is a city that knows its perfumes.) Started by pianist-turned-model-turned-perfumer Annick Goutal in the 1980s, the house of Goutal is now headed up by daughter Camille and master “nose” Isabelle Doyen. Though bottles have a classicly ornate French cut to them, don’t expect stodgy, rose-heavy concotions–inside, the airy scents have a modern and musky-yet-fruity edge.
