Unsurprisngly, perhaps, for a bar/restaurant on the roof of one of the world’s top modern art museums, Restaurant Georges is startlingly avant-garde. All “fluid contours” of aluminum and eye-wateringly bright neon accents, it screams “look at me and be wowed.” But while we do like cozying up with a cocktail at the futuristic pod-like bar and scoping the décor, our eyes are usually on the staggering panoramic views of the city (which are best enjoyed from the outdoor terrace in the summer months).

WHY WE LIKE IT

We love lounging on the terrace with a cocktail while we scope the city views and the chic crowd. It’s a perfect stop off after an afternoon of taking in the art at the Centre Pompidou downstairs.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

While the drinks are stellar, the food’s not. It’s also annoying that the space is frequently reserved for private parties.

GOOD TO KNOW

If you’re hungry, the restaurant serves a mediocre menu of fusion fare. To get up here, take the elevator to the left of the main entrance of the Centre Pompidou museum. (And make sure you’ve got reservations, especially on weekend evenings, or the bouncer might not let you in the lift.)
