    VIBE

A local landmark. This family-run linens and lingerie emporium is the oldest shop in town (it opened in 1923), and, from the Kassatly sons (Ed and Bob) still manning the counter to the old school lingerie (these nighties are straight out of Mad Men) to the dapper menswear collection, the sense of history is palpable. Its staying power seems to lie in its high quality goods (most are handmade by legendary European artisan labels), its friendly, low-key service (expect to spend a few minutes bantering with the Kassatly brothers before you check out), and its loyal clientele (it still attracts a notoriously famous crowd of Palm Beach elite who know this place from way back).

    WHY WE LIKE IT

This is still a great place to stock up on home décor basics (the towels and sheets are top quality), but our real reason for stopping by is to channel our inner 1950s diva over in the retro lingerie department. The small line of men’s and women’s cashmere sweaters are also worth checking out–the classic cuts keep them fashionable.

    GOOD TO KNOW

The store actually got its start in Southampton; the Kassatlys used to summer in New York and winter in Palm Beach. (The charms of Florida’s warm weather eventually won out, and they closed the Southampton branch decades ago.)
