This surprisingly swanky steakhouse chain woos the business set with cushy, clubby surrounds and seriously big portions of top quality steak. Service is reliable, if a little canned (watch out for the informative spiel about various cuts of beef, which comes complete with Saran-wrapped plates of raw steak). If you’re here for an indulgence rather than deal-making, don’t forget to order one of the gorgeous desserts–most need to be requested at the start of the meal because they take so long to make.

CROWD

Very masculine vibe, with lots of business types in expensive suits enjoying gigantic chops. That said, there’s always a smattering of special occasion celebrators and dating couples in the mix.

Upscale business casual. Exec types tend to wear suits, but a swingy dress and flats could work, too.

WHY WE LIKE IT

It’s a safe bet. The place won’t let you down for business dining or impressing the in-laws. This Morton’s experience is very similar to that of other Morton’s restaurants around the world.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The décor could use an update, and the servers’ steak display/salespitch is a little hokey.
