This chic yet understated Milanese paninoteca offers fabulous morning and afternoon bites to the Upper East Side breakfast and lunch lot. The long, narrow space has limited seating at its simple wooden tables, but any wait is well worth it for a taste of the generously portioned paninis stuffed with classic Italian ingredients like prosciutto and rucola. Sandwiches aside, you might find it difficult to pass on the selection of gelati or their classic tiramisu, and no coffee lover should even consider missing out on a cup of Via Quadronno’s cappuccino–one of our favorites in New York.

The sandwiches are delicious, and it’s hard to find a better cup of cappuccino. We also love the fantastic croissant selection (made fresh each morning).

Some of the delicious croissant flavors sell out fast (don’t come too late in the morning!).
