    VIBE

This small, homey venue has become a West Village seafood haunt for locals and fish fanatics alike. Both staff and customers are warm and genial–so friendly, in fact, that the staff does not rush customers despite the lines, making any of the wooden chairs pulled up to the long counter (or the small tables in the expansion space next door) very much in-demand.

    CROWD

Trendy twenty-somethings, neighborhood locals, and casual couples

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

Very casual; wear something you feel comfortable in, like jeans, a cute t-shirt, sandals or sneakers, and bright accessories.

    GO HERE WITH

A couple of friends; significant other; yourself; family (we ate here with Dad)

    WHY WE LIKE IT

The clam chowder and lobster rolls are arguably the best in the city.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The no reservations policy, which can equate to long waits (coming at off-peak hours helps to avoid this).

    GOOD TO KNOW

Prices of the lobster and other seafood are often based on market prices, be sure to ask for that day’s price tag before ordering if you are on a tight budget.
