VIBE
This sunny West Village restaurant has swapped the typical over-the-top South American steakhouse formula for a refreshingly stately, farmhouse-esque space that’s made all the more charming by touches like latticed windows and antique style furnishings. The specialty of the house is Brazilian regional home cooking (lots of meat based dishes), and servers circle the room, struggling to make space for the many pots and platters that crowd the small tables. Soft Brazilian background music lightens the mood.
CROWD
West Villagers, Brazilian nostalgics, and couples looking for intimate conversation
WHAT WE WOULD WEAR
Village casual; try a chic top, white pants, cute flats or sandals, and a colorful necklace.
GO HERE WITH
Small groups of friends; significant other; a date
WHY WE LIKE IT
We always enjoy Brazilian fare, but we especially loved how there’s even more to love here, thanks to the generous portion sizes. You definitely won’t leave hungry.
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
While we haven’t noticed any issues with the service, we’ve heard complaints that it can be a bit slow.
GOOD TO KNOW
The Brazilian home-style cuisine is a godsend for meat lovers and meat lovers only. Vegetarians and those looking for a meatless meal should dine elsewhere. If you are new to the culture, definitely try their feijoada. Considered the national dish of Brazil, it is one of Casa’s best bets. They also conveniently provide delivery service to the surrounding area.
