This dark, glitzy Downtown spot features three tiers of candlelit, chocolate-hued dining spaces filled with fashionistas perched on retro booths and nibbling tapas-style sharing plates. The multi-ethnic menu covers everything from refined dishes like barbecue duck confit to crowd pleasers like red snapper tacos, ensuring a fun night out for all occasions (be it raucous or romantic). It’s a modish eatery fit for the ever scene-seeking East Side crowd.
The trendy, fashionable, and well-heeled Lower East Side set, along with couples young and old(ish). Celebs have been known to stop in.
WHAT WE WOULD WEAR
Match the stylishly casual crowds with an elegant low-cut top, designer jeans, and chic boots.

Friends - the more people you bring, the more plates you can try; significant other or a date - for the dark, sexy ambiance
WHY WE LIKE IT
The décor is super chic and super accommodating–we’d feel comfortable bringing friends one night and a hot date the next. The multi-level design creates intimacy in what would otherwise be a (too) large space. And, the sharing aspect of the tapas experience means we get to try lots and lots of the great small plates.
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
If we happen to fall in love with a specific tapa, it’s a shame that we will have to share with our dining companions (we know, we’re greedy!)…but then again, we can always order seconds (or thirds!).
GOOD TO KNOW
We especially loved the incredible French onion soup dumplings--do not miss! There is a fantastic bar with low Japanese-style seating and notable cocktails that can be accessed via a separate staircase at the front. The bartenders are very helpful: you can just give them a general description of a flavor you like, and they’ll whip something up for you. Last time we were there, we asked for something “watermelony”, and they delivered.
