    VIBE

Situated in an airy, modern room off the lobby of Le Parker Meridien, this fun in-house breakfast spot really raises the bar for brunch. Not your usual eggs-and-toast diner dive, Norma’s boasts lofty ceilings, leather banquettes, menus stocked with posh, inventive dishes, and casually upscale crowds to match. In short, expect what has become widely known as the most extravagant all day breakfast in town.

    CROWD

Hotel guests and families along with the local power suits; weekends bring in groups of friends and locals out for a special brunch

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

Upscale casual; a conservative yet stylish blouse paired with a cardigan, elegant necklace, business slacks or chic skirt, and comfortable flats or low heels.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

Sometimes we just want breakfast for lunch, so there. And with menu items like foie gras brioche French toast, super blueberry pancakes, and breakfast dumplings, it’s hard not to pick Norma’s when those cravings hit. Plus, the portions are so large you can practically survive on them till next week (we exaggerate…slightly).

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

We love and loathe the USD 9 bottomless fresh squeezed orange juice. It’s so good, but let’s face it, we can’t possibly drink USD 9 worth; give us a less expensive option. Also, sometimes, even with a reservation, you have to wait for a table, especially in high tourist season and on the weekends.

    GOOD TO KNOW

For the most part, the meals are reasonably priced, but for those looking to really splash out, consider Norma’s famous (or, rather, infamous) USD 1,000 frittata (with lobster and caviar). Some tables are reserved for walk-ins, but if you are coming on a Saturday or Sunday, you should be prepared for a long wait. There is no alcohol served at Norma’s.
