This lively Daniel Boulud venture draws the pre- and post- theater crowds with an extensive menu and vibrant décor. Diners have a choice between two spaces: a casual, modern front room (with stone tiles and huge canvas flower photographs), and a more formal, neutral back room. The seasonal French menu caters to the American market and covers everything from foie gras to burgers–or both together! (The signature burger includes short ribs, foie gras, and black truffles.)

It's one of the best options in the theater district in terms of both food and overall experience.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

It’s solid food in a convenient location, but there just isn’t a ton of “wow!” here. It’s cookie cutter fab.

GOOD TO KNOW

The Original db Burger receives such rave reviews that it’s worth trying at least once (as long as you don’t mind stumping up a whopping USD 32). That said, the pre-theater crowds seem more interested in the bargain USD 45 dinner prix fixe (available 5:00pm-6:30pm Tuesday through Saturday). We’re also fans of Boulud ventures (Palm Beach and New York), Bar Boulud (New York), and DBGB Kitchen & Bar (New York).
