VIBE
The sister to next door Rose Bar is equally stunning, if smaller. The same sumptuous flair and edgy sophistication show up in the rich greens and indigo blues of the décor, from the velvet chairs with shag lining to the Julian Schnabel artwork “Blue Japanese Painting #2” hanging on the back wall. Thick curtains fall gracefully from the lofty ceiling, the only barriers separating Jade Bar from its more exclusive counterpart. The drinks themselves are of equal caliber, however, as are the good-looking waitresses and barkeeps who deliver fanciful concoctions to the dressy clientele.
WHAT WE WOULD WEAR
Upscale casual; anything from a sexy little cocktail dress to a striking top with capris and towering heels
GO HERE WITH
A friend; a client or colleague; significant other; a date
CROWD
A slightly older mix of suits and skirts, along with the occasional couple and spillovers from Rose Bar.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Jade is far easier to get into than Rose, but offers just as much quality in surrounds and drinks. The intimacy of this narrow, candlelit space makes for a perfect spot to sip and savor after work or to have a deep chat with a confidant.
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
Seating is very limited and, with each passing hour in the evening, becomes increasingly difficult to secure unless you have a reservation. Show up early or have a back-up plan in mind lest you are turned away.
GOOD TO KNOW
Jade and Rose are both popular spots for celebs (the Olsen twins, among others, were spotted schmoozing here). The menu offered here is a selection from Maialino next door.
