Contemporary art exhibits in the lobby add a touch of edgy fun (as do the funky lime green furnishings), and the slick glass bar is stylishly retro yet restrained–perfect for entertaining clients.

WHY WE LIKE IT

This is an excellent Midtown choice for the business set. With stellar coffee, a fab fitness center, free Wi-Fi, and decent bites in the slick bar, the laptop-toting crowd shall want for nothing when they return after a day in the office. (And if they’re looking for more, the friendly 24-hour concierge is always ready to help.)

The lack of natural light in many of the guest rooms.

GOOD TO KNOW

The hotel consists of two buildings connected by the lobby level–one for small rooms, and the other for the larger bedrooms and suites. There are meeting and event facilities available for up to 150 guests. There’s a small business center in the lobby with two computers and a printer. 24-hour concierge available. When we visited, the reception desk was offering complimentary glasses of champagne to guests checking in.
