This family-run salon (the Jahanbigloo husband-wife-sister team took over from the original Juan in 2000) is a smooth and sophisticated space where la crème de la crème of LA’s stylists work their magic. Although their client list reads like the credits of a Hollywood blockbuster, they remain devoted to their "normal" customers, welcoming walk-ins when possible (don’t count on this, however, due to their full roster) and dispensing with the usual LA practice of requiring decades-long waits for non-stars to get appointments with their top stylists.

WHY WE LIKE IT

Although they have a star-spangled client list, the service remains down to earth and the quality is always excellent. They’re especially good at rescuing you from hair trauma–it’s reassuring to know you can always turn to Juan Juan for a reliable fix-up job if things go south elsewhere.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

Location–this salon is just a few storefronts from the OTHER Juan Juan. There used to be a common owner, followed by a break-off, so be sure to go to the right location!

GOOD TO KNOW

If you’ve made a spur of the moment haircut decision, try this place–they do their best to accommodate walk-ins (no promises though). If you have an appointment, keep in mind that you need to give 15 minutes notice if you’re running late and 24 hours notice if you cancel. Also good to know: both of their locations (not to be confused with the other Juan Juan just a few storefronts down) get rave reviews, so go with whichever is the most convenient for you (note, however, that we can only speak of the Beverly Hills locale first hand).
